🌶️ Black pepper – a true gift of nature, simply the best of the best! 🌶️
We’ve all grown accustomed to thinking of black pepper as something utterly ordinary, after all, it’s been a staple of our diet since time immemorial. But does everyone know that this spice, which seems so familiar at first glance, possesses powerful health-boosting properties?
Here are 5 compelling reasons to include black pepper in your diet (and to truly enjoy every fragrant pinch!):
🧬 1. Promotes better absorption of nutrients + helps prevent cancer. The main active ingredient in black pepper is piperine. It maximises the absorption of vitamins, minerals and trace elements, particularly curcumin, increasing its effectiveness by 20 times! Incidentally, both turmeric and black pepper, whether used together or separately, kill cancer cells. Both of these products have the ability to combat tumour cells and neoplasms, so, combined with their potential to strengthen the immune system, both turmeric and black pepper (and especially these two superb spices working together) are an effective tool in the fight against cancer.
🔥 2. Boosts metabolism. Black pepper significantly speeds up metabolism and helps burn calories. This makes it an indispensable aid in maintaining a healthy, balanced weight.
🦠 3. A natural antiseptic. This wonderful spice has excellent antimicrobial properties and helps the body fight colds and infections – both by combating existing ones and preventing new ones from developing. Cold prevention all year round!
🧠 4. Boosts brain function and lifts your mood. Piperine stimulates the production of dopamine and serotonin – the ‘happiness’ hormones – thereby helping to improve mood and boost concentration. Scientific research has also established that pepper has a rather positive effect on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases. Both your brain and your mood will be in top form!
💡5. A great aid to the stomach. Black pepper stimulates the production of gastric juices, significantly improves digestion and helps with bloating and constipation. By adding this super-spice to your diet, your stomach will work as smoothly as the most expensive Swiss watch!
How to get the most out of black pepper?
Add pepper to dishes right at the end of cooking to preserve the maximum amount of beneficial substances that this miracle spice is packed with.
Combine it with turmeric – it’s a simply stunningly effective duo for your health!
Where possible, use freshly ground pepper – it’s more aromatic and beneficial than ready-made shop-bought pepper.
What can I say about the range of pepper mills available in England? There are absolutely loads of them, and in all sorts of styles and designs. However, back when I decided to buy a durable, high-quality pepper mill with a proper grinding mechanism – not plastic, but at least metal – I eventually managed, with great difficulty, to find exactly what I was looking for. The price of £15 was quite steep, but I was determined. And what do you think? After a relatively short time, I was met with a huge disappointment – the mechanism rusted very quickly, and I had to throw such an expensive, yet utterly useless item in the bin. It was quite upsetting, but lessons were learnt, and for the time being I’m buying pre-ground pepper, but from a more than reliable supplier. A conscientious seller regularly supplies me with the most aromatic, freshly ground black pepper of excellent quality, which my family and I are absolutely delighted with!
An important point! Avoid excessive consumption of this spice, especially if you have digestive problems. Remember to maintain a balance – don’t overdo it!
